ATFunded has paused operations and said it will review its business model and long-term sustainability. The proprietary trading arm of retail broker ATFX gave no timeline for the review.
ATFunded review and trader refunds
In a statement to traders, ATFunded said the prop trading industry has changed a lot. Therefore, it said it must pause, stabilise, and look at other models that better match trader success with company sustainability.
The firm did not say whether it will restart operations after the review. It also did not give any date for when the process may end.
ATFunded said customers with active accounts will receive a full refund of their purchase fees. In addition, funded traders with eligible profits will receive payouts under the firm’s rules.
The company said it will share more details with affected traders in the days after the announcement. However, it did not provide those timelines in the statement.
ATFunded closes MetaTrader 5 trading
ATFunded also said its MetaTrader 5 environment would move to close-only mode. All trades had to be closed by 1 pm EST on the day of the announcement.
The move adds ATFunded to a growing list of prop trading firms that have wound down or restructured in recent months. The source said the sector faces questions over challenge-based funding models and the balance between trader payouts and operating costs.
