Citadel Securities Amsterdam office opened as a new European hub for the firm’s equity options business, the company said on July 22.
The firm said the site will host trading, technology, and quantitative research teams. Those teams will work together to support its growing equity options business. The company also said the office will help add liquidity across European listed derivatives markets.
Citadel Securities Amsterdam Office Expansion
Citadel Securities said the move shows its ongoing commitment to Europe’s capital markets. It described those markets as deep and dynamic. Dave Silber said Amsterdam was a natural choice for the firm’s European growth. He cited the city’s role as a key center for equity derivatives and its pool of technical and trading talent.
Silber also said the company remains focused on investing in people, technology, and infrastructure. He said those efforts support market resiliency and the long-term development of Europe’s capital markets ecosystem.
New Hub Adds to Global Network
With the new site, Citadel Securities now has 15 offices across North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific. The firm said the Amsterdam office will help it serve institutional clients more effectively. It also said the office will strengthen its role in supporting liquidity and innovation in Europe’s derivatives market.
Citadel Securities described itself as a market maker across equities, equity options, corporate and sovereign bonds, interest rate swaps, and foreign exchange. It said its technology-driven platform serves thousands of institutional and retail clients worldwide through pricing and execution services.
