WA VenueX launch marks Western Alliance Bank’s formal debut of a platform that offers real-time U.S. dollar liquidity for institutional digital asset activity. The bank said the system gives approved institutional digital asset businesses instant dollar settlement at all hours. It added that the service operates within a regulated banking setting.
Western Alliance said its WA VenueX Network has already handled billions of dollars in volume since an initial rollout earlier this year. That activity covered stablecoin minting and redemption, institutional settlement, and real-time liquidity rebalancing. Meanwhile, the Phoenix-based commercial bank said it holds more than $90 billion in assets.
WA VenueX Launch Adds Always-On Access
The bank said the new platform puts Western Alliance in a small group of regulated U.S. financial institutions that offer round-the-clock infrastructure for institutional digital asset markets. It also said the network is now open to select clients. Additionally, clients can connect to the service through API integration.
Western Alliance said it built the platform on nearly five years of digital asset banking experience. The bank also said it serves about 150 institutional clients, including stablecoin issuers, exchanges, and trading firms. As a result, WA VenueX launch expands services for a client base already active in digital assets.
More Digital Asset Services in Development
Western Alliance said it plans to add more features in phases. Those planned services include digital asset custody, financing, tokenisation, and programmable financial services. However, the bank did not give a timeline for those additions.
Dale Gibbons said the bank keeps looking for new ways to serve clients and support the S-curve funding growth strategy outlined at its Investor Day in May. He also said the platform supports deposit remixing efforts and a more diverse funding source. David Fragale said WA VenueX combines real-time USD settlement with a path toward broader digital asset functions on one platform.
