Brex Capital QRS rebrand has gone live after QRS Global said an international investment group acquired the broker and shifted it to a new brand.
Sophie Squillacioti, Brex Capital’s Chief Executive, told Finance Magnates that the firm’s trading setup, services, and operations remain in place. However, she said the main change is the ownership and brand. She did not name the new owners.
QRS also now sends website traffic to the Brex Capital site. Meanwhile, a QRS representative said the redirect reflects a takeover now managed by Brex Capital. The representative added that current clients can keep using their existing accounts and do not need to open new ones.
Brex Capital QRS Shift Keeps Operations
The same representative said the admin team will keep providing support to clients. Therefore, the transition appears focused on branding and ownership rather than account changes.
Like QRS, Brex Capital is registered in Comoros. The new entity also appears to hold a financial services provider license in South Africa. According to the source article, that license lets firms promote locally and bars market-making. The article also said the license number matches one used by CFD broker Ruby FX.
Squillacioti previously held roles at Multibank, Equiti, Infonox, BDSwiss, BlackBull, and other CFD brands. Additionally, the source article said her background appears centered on Chinese and other Asian markets.
QRS Faced Thai Fraud Case
The Brex Capital QRS move follows public scrutiny around QRS in Thailand. In June, Thailand’s Department of Special Investigation formally accepted a forex investment fraud case that involved QRS and several other CFD brands.
The case also involved an opposition member of the Thai parliament and an actor, according to the source article. Separately, a Bangkok Post report said Thai authorities arrested the CEO of QRS Global’s operator, who locally ran QRS Education Co Ltd, over an alleged role in the foreign investment scam.
That report said the person faces charges that include conspiracy to defraud the public, running an unlicensed securities brokerage, running an unauthorised futures trading business, importing false computer data, and money laundering. Moreover, Thai authorities arrested other people tied to promotion of the alleged forex investment fraud.
