CL crude oil futures turned lower after a sharp reversal from $93.50 and are now testing support near $90.10-$90.30.
At the time of the analysis, September CL crude oil futures traded around $90.30-$90.55. The report said sellers still control the near-term structure below $91.70-$91.85. However, it also warned that chasing the move lower near current levels offers a weaker reward-to-risk setup.
The contract had climbed from about $85.45 to $93.50 before momentum faded near the highs. According to the report, buyers stayed active around $92.80-$93.35, yet price struggled to hold gains. It said that pattern pointed to selling pressure absorbing aggressive buying.
CL Crude Oil Futures Near Decision Zone
The analysis set $90.15 as the main bearish threshold. A brief dip below that level would not be enough on its own. Instead, the report said a stronger bearish signal would need sustained trade under $90.15, followed by a failed attempt to recover the $90.15-$90.30 area.
If that happens, the first support shelf could turn into resistance. As a result, the report said an hourly close below $89.80 would add confirmation that the correction is widening. It identified $88.55-$89.30 as the deeper support region to watch, with further levels at $89.85, $89.35, $88.60-$88.70 and $88.20.
The report also noted growing volume around $90.40-$90.65. However, it said that activity does not yet confirm buyer accumulation. So far, it shows that the market is accepting lower prices.
Rebound Levels in Focus
For a short-term rebound, the report said CL crude oil futures would need to reject the lower support area and recover above $90.55-$90.65. Even then, it said that move alone would not mark a bullish shift in control. A more meaningful recovery would begin above $91.05.
The first rebound resistance stands at $90.90-$91.15, while a stronger resistance band sits around $91.35-$91.65. Above that, the main bullish threshold is $91.85. The report said buyers need acceptance above $91.85 to support a stronger repair in price structure.
If CL crude oil futures reclaim and hold above that level, the next upside areas to watch are $92.15, $92.50, $92.70-$92.85 and $93.20-$93.50. The report added that the $92.70-$92.85 zone may prove difficult because earlier buying began to weaken there.
Overall, the analysis placed CL between $90.15 and $91.85 in a bearish-to-neutral decision zone.
