GMG Expands GMG Prime and Cuts Annual Loss

Forex24NewsBy Forex24NewsJuly 28, 2026No Comments2 Mins Read

GMG Prime featured in Global Markets Group Limited’s FY2026 results as the broker raised revenue and sharply reduced its annual loss.

Turnover rose to £1.64 million in the year ended 31 March 2026, up from £107,122 a year earlier. Gross profit increased to £954,966 from £49,206. Meanwhile, the operating loss narrowed to £202,235 from £730,416.

After interest income, net loss fell to £161,206 from £717,748. GMG also said client numbers and trading volumes grew, although it did not give figures. The company finished the year with £2.71 million in own funds and £1.25 million in liquid assets, both above regulatory requirements.

GMG Prime Marks Strategic Shift

GMG’s FY2026 report showed a clear shift from its FY2025 position. In the earlier report, the company described itself mainly as an execution-only broker for retail and professional clients under a matched-principal restriction. It hedged client trades with liquidity providers and earned revenue from spreads, commissions and overnight financing.

By contrast, the FY2026 report placed more focus on GMG Prime, institutional execution and full-principal permissions. The FCA removed the matched-principal restriction in July 2025. As a result, GMG could internalise part of client order flow. However, the company said it still hedged most client positions during the year and kept market exposure minimal.

GMG Prime Builds Institutional Offering

GMG launched GMG Prime in November as an institutional unit for brokerages, family offices and hedge fund managers. It aggregates pricing from Tier 1 banks, brokers and hedge funds. Its product range covers spot and forward foreign exchange, metals, commodities, indices and shares.

To support that push, GMG added MetaQuotes’ Ultency Matching Engine and signed a prime-of-prime deal with Hidden Road Partners CIV UK. Ultency lets brokers reach GMG liquidity through MetaTrader 5. Additionally, it offers price aggregation, order matching and real-time risk management through FIX connectivity.

The Hidden Road agreement was signed in March and went live after the year-end in June. It gives GMG a single credit counterparty for access to liquidity providers, exchanges and electronic communication networks. The arrangement covers foreign exchange, metals, exchange-traded derivatives, fixed income and digital assets.

For FY2027, management plans to build on the year’s operational growth and increase revenue from trading, commissions, financing and market making.
