Marex webb traders acquisition has been completed, with Marex Group Limited saying the deal adds a European equity derivatives market maker to its business.
Marex said Webb Traders runs offices in Amsterdam and Paris. The firm focuses on market making in single stock options for European and U.S. mid- and large-cap equities. As a result, Marex adds a technology-led team of market makers, quants, and developers.
The company said the purchase expands its electronic trading strength. It also fits Marex’s wider plan to diversify its revenue streams.
Marex Webb Traders Acquisition Adds Trading Depth
Marex said the deal supports its current market making business. Additionally, it strengthens the firm’s Equity Linked Structured Products platform. The company said the acquisition will help it internalise hedging, lift profit margins, and give clients more competitive pricing across its equity derivatives business.
According to Marex, this transaction marks another step in its push into specialised trading capabilities. Meanwhile, the firm said it has been growing its market making footprint as part of a broader effort to widen its service offering beyond clearing and execution.
Marex Expands Across Core Service Lines
Marex said it operates through four main service lines: Clearing, Agency and Execution, Market Making, and Hedging and Investment Solutions. The company also said it has built a leading franchise in metals, energy, and agricultural products, with access to more than 60 exchanges worldwide.
The firm said it serves more than 3,400 active clients. These include commodity producers, consumers, traders, banks, hedge funds, and asset managers. Marex also said it employs more than 3,000 staff across over 50 offices in Europe, Asia, and the Americas.
