AEGIS Goldman Sachs Alternatives is the focus after AEGIS Hedging Solutions said it signed a definitive transaction agreement with Private Equity at Goldman Sachs Alternatives.
The company said the deal will change its institutional backing. Goldman Sachs Alternatives will replace Greenbelt Capital Partners and Baird Capital. However, AEGIS did not disclose financial terms.
AEGIS, founded in 2013, is based in The Woodlands, Texas. It serves about 700 commodity producers, consumers, capital providers, and financial counterparties across North America. The company said it helps clients manage commodity price risk and make better decisions.

Bryan Sansbury, Chief Executive Officer of AEGIS, said the investment will help the company advance its mission. He also said AEGIS will keep its current leadership team, employees, customer relationships, and technology platform after the transaction.
Meanwhile, the company said the new backing should speed up investment in advisory services, artificial intelligence, proprietary data, and regulated market infrastructure. It added that AEGIS has expanded in that area through its swap execution facility.
Anthony Arnold, Partner within Private Equity at Goldman Sachs Alternatives, said AEGIS has strong customer relationships and technology. Phil Mooney, Managing Director within the same division, said the company offers a distinct service as commodity markets become more complex.
Closing Timeline and Advisers
The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of 2026, subject to customary closing conditions. Additionally, AEGIS said Financial Technology Partners, Kirkland & Ellis, and Winstead PC advised the company.
Goldman Sachs Alternatives was advised by Ardea Partners LP and Sidley Austin LLP.
