Mitrade Renews AFA Sponsorship Into 2027

Forex24NewsBy Forex24NewsJuly 28, 2026No Comments3 Mins Read

Mitrade AFA sponsorship was renewed into 2027, the CFD trading platform said on Tuesday, extending its tie-up with the Argentine Football Association.

The company announced the renewal nine days after Argentina lost the World Cup final 1-0 to Spain at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Mitrade said the new push targets the Middle East and North Africa. However, it did not disclose the value of the deal, the rights included, or any term beyond 2027.

Kevin Lai, a vice president at Mitrade Group, said the move shows a commitment to “strengthening our long-term presence in the Middle East.” Argentina remains a three-time world champion, with titles in 1978, 1986 and 2022.

Mitrade AFA Sponsorship Shifts Region

When the two sides first signed in July 2025, Mitrade aimed the deal at Southeast Asia and Australia. At that time, the company said Argentina shirts were outselling those of older football powers across the region.

Argentina’s federation has sold financial brand rights by market since 2021. ATFX became a regional sponsor in January 2026. In the same month, Evest.com became the official online trading partner. Earlier deals also involved PU Prime, XBO.com, Ant International, T1Markets, TradeATF and Binance.

Stephen Pearson, chief executive of Sports Media Gaming, told Finance Magnates Intelligence this month that results depend more on how a company uses a sponsorship than on the badge itself. Meanwhile, trading brands have also expanded beyond football. XTB signed as a FIBA global partner in April in a deal that runs through December 2027.

UAE License and Market Data

Mitrade’s Dubai entity holds Capital Market Authority registration 20200000397, which the company announced in April as its sixth regulatory approval worldwide. The Category 5 permit lets a firm promote and introduce its brand inside the UAE. By contrast, XTB and Capital.com hold higher-tier approvals that allow direct client-facing business on the mainland.

The CMA replaced the Securities and Commodities Authority on January 1, 2026. Firms with SCA licenses before that date have until January 1, 2027 to complete the shift.

Mitrade also pointed to Dubai market growth. Gulf News reported that the Dubai Financial Market passed Dh1 trillion, or about $272 billion, in market value on June 17. Its general index stood at 6,115.97 points. In the first quarter of 2026, average daily trading value topped Dh1 billion, up 56% from a year earlier, while foreign investors made up 54% of turnover.

Mitrade said on Tuesday that it now connects more than 7 million traders to over 1,000 OTC derivatives, up from more than 6 million traders and 1,100 instruments in April.
