NinjaTrader single stock futures are now available on the platform, giving eligible users access to CME Group contracts linked to Nvidia, Tesla, Apple and Amazon.
The company said the launch adds futures tied to individual U.S. firms. It also said CME Group is rolling out the contracts across more than 50 companies from the S&P 500, Nasdaq 100 and Russell 1000. As a result, the new product expands NinjaTrader’s current equity index lineup.
Martin Franchi, CEO of NinjaTrader Group, said the move matches a change in retail trading habits. He said traders are now more active and more focused on high-conviction trades. He also said single stock futures offer speed and capital efficiency without the added complexity of options.
NinjaTrader Single Stock Futures Rollout
The article said this is one of the first major retail platform integrations for the new CME contracts. Tim McCourt, CME Group’s Global Head of Equities, FX and Alternative Products, said the tie-up broadens access to centrally cleared and financially settled contracts. He added that the product gives traders near round-the-clock access to major U.S. stocks.
Unlike options, single stock futures do not require traders to manage time decay, Greeks or multi-leg strategies, according to the article. They also do not carry stock borrowing needs for bearish trades. Meanwhile, the contracts trade nearly 24 hours during the trading week, which gives users more time to respond to earnings, geopolitical news and other market events.
Platform Reach and User Base
Franchi said the product may bring new users into futures trading. He said single stock futures could broaden and reshape investor participation in the futures market.
NinjaTrader serves close to 3.9 million users through its cloud-based platform. Additionally, the group has clearing and technology units that support institutional and proprietary trading firms.
