Overview

Founded in 2014 as the Tickmill brand (with earlier roots as Vipro Markets in the EU), Tickmill is a multi-asset CFD broker focused on low-cost execution on MT4/MT5 and tooling for systematic and social traders. DailyForex highlights the Advanced Trading Toolkit (11 MT4/5 add-ons) and Acuity news/analytics as notable extras for active traders.

Regulation & Safety

Group licenses (by entity)

  • United Kingdom – Tickmill UK Ltd: FCA authorized, FRN 717270; also maintains a DIFC representative office under DFSA ref. F007663.
  • European Union – Tickmill Europe Ltd: CySEC license 278/15 (former Vipro Markets Ltd).
  • South Africa – Tickmill South Africa (Pty) Ltd: FSCA authorized, FSP 49464.
  • Seychelles – Tickmill Ltd: FSA Seychelles securities-dealer SD008.

What this means: clients register under a specific entity; protections, leverage limits, and complaint escalation vary by regulator (e.g., FCA/CySEC vs. offshore FSA Seychelles). Always verify which entity you contract with on your account paperwork.

Core protections (vary by entity)

  • Segregated client money and formal complaints processes are documented in Tickmill legal materials.
  • Investor-compensation applies in the EU via the ICF up to €20,000 for eligible clients of the CySEC entity.

Markets, Platforms & Tools

  • Platforms: MetaTrader 4 & MetaTrader 5 across desktop, web and mobile. (Standard across all Tickmill reviews.)
  • Instruments: FX pairs, indices, commodities and bonds are offered; crypto availability is limited—DailyForex comparisons note no crypto in one lineup and about 62 FX pairs (varies by region/account). Always check your local entity’s product list.
  • Add-ons: Advanced Trading Toolkit (11 plugins) and Acuity sentiment/news tools for MT4/5.

Accounts, Pricing & Leverage

  • Account types: Industry tracking indicates Tickmill now centers on Classic (spread-only) and Raw (tight spreads + commission); the Raw account replaced “Pro” with a commission $3 per side ($6/lot)—still competitive on “all-in” costs.
  • Spreads & commissions: DailyForex and independent rankings characterize Tickmill’s cost structure as highly competitive for active traders.
  • Leverage: Maximum leverage depends on the regulator (lower under FCA/CySEC, higher under FSA Seychelles/FSCA). Confirm limits in your entity’s T&Cs.

  • Minimum deposit/funding: Varies by region and method; marketing emphasizes low entry and fast/no-fee internal funding, but check your payment rail and entity for specifics.

Client Experience & Support

Review aggregators and industry write-ups consistently point to fast withdrawals, stable MT4/5 execution, and multilingual support (24/5), with overall positive user satisfaction. Independent scoring at Traders Union places Tickmill in a recommended tier. As with any broker, isolated reports of delays/verification issues exist—often jurisdiction or payment-method-specific.

Advantages vs. Disadvantages

Pros

  • Tier-1/2 regulation footprint (FCA, CySEC, FSCA) plus global reach.
  • Very competitive “all-in” trading costs for active/algorithmic traders.
  • MT4/MT5 + 11-plugin toolkit & Acuity enhance decision-making.

Cons

  • Product menus differ by entity; some lineups exclude crypto and have a narrower non-FX selection than multi-asset rivals.
  • Protections and leverage vary widely between FCA/CySEC vs. offshore entities—clients must confirm their contracting entity.

Risk Disclosure

CFDs are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. Only trade with funds you can afford to lose; consider independent advice if needed. (Tickmill legal docs and EU KIDs emphasize this.) Tickmill Ltd

Final Evaluation

Tickmill remains a cost-leader with solid infrastructure on MT4/MT5 and credible, multi-jurisdiction regulation. It’s especially attractive to active and algo traders who value low spreads/commissions and MT add-ons. As always, confirm your specific entity, product list, and funding/withdrawal terms before opening an account.

Tickmill is my go to for scalping. Low spreads + fixed commission make the trading cost easy to calculate. MT5 runs clean even during volatility

I’ve been using Tickmill for over a year now, and execution speed is honestly one of the best I’ve experienced. Orders go through smoothly even during high volatility

Tickmill offers a smooth trading experience with very low spreads and fast order execution. I find it very reliable during busy market hours and the platform feels stable even when volatility picks up.

I tried Tickmill for a while and overall it was fine, but not perfect. The platform itself runs smoothly, but I did notice spreads widening more than I expected during busy hours. Support replied, but the responses felt a bit generic. Withdrawals worked, just took a little longer than I thought they would. Not terrible, just not as seamless as I hoped.

Tickmill’s low spreads really make a difference for scalping. I mostly trade London session and haven’t faced slippage issues so far.

Tickmill impressed me with its low spreads and fast execution. I mainly scalp, so the low trading costs make a big difference for me. The platform is clean, stable, and ideal for people who trade frequently or use tighter strategies

I have been trading with this firm for about six months. They haven’t let me down regarding withdrawals. When I make a request in the morning, it usually hits my account the same day.
