Webull Adds Event Contracts to Paper Trading Platform

Forex24NewsBy Forex24NewsJuly 21, 2026No Comments2 Mins Read

Webull event contracts are now part of the broker’s paper trading platform, expanding the practice environment to cover six asset classes. Users can now test these products with virtual funds before moving to live markets. Meanwhile, the platform already includes stocks, options, crypto, futures and bonds.

Webull said the update puts event contracts inside the same interface used for its other trading products. Rather than launch a separate simulator, the broker folded them into its existing paper trading setup. As a result, users can practice in an environment built to better reflect live market conditions.

Webull Event Contracts Join Broader Tools

Along with Webull event contracts, the broker added a revised pricing engine, OpenAPI access and support for more advanced trading workflows. The API feature also broadens the platform’s use beyond investor learning. Because developers can now access paper trading through APIs, they can test algorithmic strategies and automated workflows before using them in live markets.

Webull said traders have placed more than 204 million simulated orders since paperTrade launched. Event contracts now appear beside equities, options and other instruments in the same system. Additionally, the expansion follows Webull’s partnership with Kalshi in February 2025, when the brokerage introduced CFTC-regulated event contracts.

Industry Use of Simulated Event Markets

Webull’s move comes as more firms use simulated environments for event-based products. Earlier this month, proprietary trading firm Tradeify drew more than 30,000 participants to a simulated prediction-market tournament. Plaee’s SimTrader platform powered that event.

That competition did not offer regulated event contracts. Instead, traders used virtual capital in simulated markets tied to football matches and related outcomes. Meanwhile, Match-Trade Technologies has shown prediction-market modules to brokers and proprietary trading firms, letting potential clients review the products before any live rollout.

Nadex also maintains a demo environment that includes event contracts within its wider derivatives offering. Across the industry, firms are using these test settings for education, product checks, developer work and broker evaluation before live deployment.
