BMLL Brad Hunt chairman news led the company to name Brad Hunt as chairman of the board on July 29, as it pushes for global growth after Nordic Capital bought the firm in October 2025.
BMLL said the appointment supports its next stage of expansion. The company provides harmonised historical market data and analytics for capital markets. Meanwhile, Hunt takes over from Lee Hodgkinson, who will remain on the board as an independent Non-Executive Director.
Hunt brings 30 years of experience in financial data businesses. Most recently, he served as CEO of Rimes Technologies. There, he helped expand the firm from benchmark data management into enterprise data management and investment solutions before its sale in 2024.
He also held senior roles at Bank of New York Mellon, IHS Markit and Goldman Sachs International.
BMLL Brad Hunt Chairman Move Follows 2025 Deal
BMLL linked the change to its growth plans after Nordic Capital acquired the company in October 2025. Paul Humphrey, BMLL CEO, said Hunt’s industry knowledge will help the firm as it expands worldwide. He also thanked Hodgkinson for his time as chairman.
Hodgkinson currently serves as Group Chief Strategy Officer at Saudi Tadawul Group. He also previously led Euronext London.
The board also added Spiros Giannaros, a US-based independent NED and current CEO of Gresham Technologies. BMLL said he brings decades of fintech scaling experience. Additionally, other directors include Humphrey, CFO and COO Nigel Medhurst, Nordic Capital’s David Samuelson and Dan Rosenberg, and Optiver representative Hilde Kaemingk.
Hunt Cites Demand for Historical Data
Hunt said he joined BMLL at a key time for the business. He pointed to the firm’s standing in historical data and to rising demand for deep insight without heavy operational overhead.
BMLL was founded in 2014 from the University of Cambridge’s machine learning laboratories. It had previously raised $83 million across seed, Series A and B funding rounds, with backing that included Optiver.
