Eric Lombard Euroclear board return was announced on Friday, with Euroclear naming him a non-executive director.
The company said Lombard is returning to the board after serving in that role from November 2022 to December 2024. He was France’s Economy and Finance Minister from 2024 to 2025. Before that, he led Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations as Chief Executive from 2017 to 2024.
Euroclear said Lombard brings more than 40 years of experience in finance, government, and public sector leadership. He now serves as President of Halmahera, an investment company.

Francesco Vanni d’Archirafi said Lombard’s background in both the private and public sectors will add value to the board. He also said Lombard already knows Euroclear well because of his earlier board service.
Lombard said he is pleased to rejoin the board. He added that resilient market infrastructure and sound governance matter more than ever.
Board Role and Prior Experience
Lombard also said Euroclear is in a strong position to support the European Union’s Savings and Investments Union objective. Meanwhile, the appointment marks his return to the board less than two years after his previous term ended.
Euroclear announced the move on Friday.
