Interactive Brokers Romania stocks access opened on Thursday for eligible clients, while Saxo Bank Securities Japan added 116 ETFs to its local lineup. The two launches expand product choice in different ways. Interactive Brokers added a new market, and Saxo widened its fund range in Japan.
Eligible Interactive Brokers clients can now trade shares on the Bucharest Stock Exchange, also known as BVB. The broker said clients can add Romanian equities to portfolios that already cover more than 170 markets. Moreover, the same mobile, web, and desktop accounts used for other exchanges support the BVB link.
Remus Vulpescu, BVB Chief Executive Officer, welcomed the move in the broker’s announcement. He said every new gateway matters. However, Interactive Brokers is not the first international platform to offer that route. NAGA introduced direct access to Romanian shares in March 2025 and said at the time that it was the first global retail broker to do so.
Interactive Brokers Romania Stocks Pricing Details
Thursday’s formal statement came after a July 23 report by Romania Insider said BVB securities had already appeared on the Interactive Brokers platform. IBKR pricing shows a 0.28% commission, with a minimum charge of RON 10. In addition, the broker lists an annual custody fee of 0.1% on RON-denominated positions.
The Bucharest exchange entered the rollout after strong gains in 2025. According to BVB’s annual report, the BET price index rose 46.2% last year. Meanwhile, the BET-TR total-return index gained 55.2%.
Saxo Japan Broadens ETF Range
Saxo Bank Securities Japan added 116 ETFs to its domestic product range. Some of the new funds also support options trading, although the company did not say how many. The new list includes products tied to broad markets, single companies, leverage, and option-based income strategies.
Among the additions are the Direxion Daily COIN Bull 2X ETF and the Direxion Daily MSCI South Korea Bull 3X ETF. Saxo Japan also listed two products linked to SpaceX shares: the GraniteShares 2x Long SpaceX Daily ETF and the Leverage Shares 2X Long SPCX Daily ETF. Notably, those funds target twice the daily move, not twice the return over a longer holding period.
Other new ETFs cover artificial intelligence, humanoid robotics, blockchain, aerospace and defense, memory semiconductors, and covered-call income. The list also includes the State Street SPDR Portfolio S&P 500 ETF and Roundhill Magnificent Seven ETF, both marked as supporting options trading. Product access remains limited by client eligibility at Interactive Brokers and by Saxo’s Japanese unit scope.
