Both sides also said the partnership will include responsible investing programs, but XTB did not give details on format, reach, or cost.
XTB Olympique Lyonnais Deal Expands France Push
The Lyon agreement is XTB’s third football club partnership in Europe since April. On Friday, the broker announced a three-year sleeve sponsorship with FC Porto. Earlier, in April, XTB signed a two-year global trading partnership with Napoli.
Szymon Szymański, XTB’s chief growth officer, said the company wants to become the leader and the most popular investment app in France. Meanwhile, XTB said it opened French PEA tax-advantaged accounts in April 2025. The company said that move targeted a pool of more than 7 million active holders.
XTB spent PLN 435.5 million, or about $117 million, on marketing in the first half of 2026. That was up 64.7% from PLN 264.4 million a year earlier. Moreover, the first-half total equaled three quarters of its full 2025 marketing spend.
Marketing Spend and Client Growth Rise
XTB told investors that marketing spending will rise about 50% this year. It also said spending should grow by 30% to 40% a year from 2027 to 2029. In the first half, the broker added 703,333 clients, up 94.5% from a year earlier, bringing its total to 2.83 million.
The company also reported stronger financial results this year. Operating revenue rose 79.7% year over year to PLN 2.09 billion in the first half. Net profit climbed 150.5% to PLN 1.03 billion.
Still, the source of revenue remained concentrated. CFDs produced PLN 1.98 billion of XTB’s PLN 2.07 billion gross result from financial instruments in the same period. Notably, commodity CFDs made up 75.3% of that total.
XTB said shares, ETFs and Investment Plans accounted for 82.9% of first transactions by new EU clients in the first half.
